English Teacher (FILLED)

Habitat Academy is now hiring native and/or native-level English Teachers with experience and passion -for the coming 2024-2025 season, starting in September.

We are a unique English learning home with a socially responsible mindset. We teach English in English without a formal textbook via the communicative and task-based approach. This is done in a non-traditional environment with hands-on experience. Come join usin our quest for a true and effectivelearning experience.


Typical responsibilities of the job include:

– organizing and running courses while applying communicative, task-based and direct teaching approaches in a natural learning environment
– providing specialized instructional techniques and media through individual and/or group sessions designed to meet the educational, social and emotional needs of the students
– running activity based English learning sessions (such as cooking, filmmaking, drama, etc.) and preparing the necessary teaching materials
– helping students improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills via individual and group sessions
– checking and assessing students’ work
– genuinely interacting with students before, during and after class sessions
– informing parents when necessary and writing bi-monthly feedback letters
– filling out daily attendance and class progress sheets
– attending staff meetings and school organized social events
– using electronic devices (computers, printers, home appliances) and necessary software (Office programs, Zoom, Google Drive) effectively and efficiently
– demonstrating punctuality and professionalism

This position is a great opportunity for those who are passionate about alternative education and creative teaching methods. School Coordinator (OPEN - URGENT)

Habitat Academy is looking for a dependable and personable School Coordinator to join our English Learning Home.

In this role, you will be responsible for handling inquiries, providing assistance to students and parents, and serving as an intermediary between teachers and parents.

Additionally, you will manage the office and its equipment, maintain electronic devices, update the website and social media accounts, and oversee the general upkeep of the entire facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle inquiries and questions over the phone, answer messages and emails.
  • Inform prospective and current parents and students about our school and programs.
  • Help develop schedules and educational programs.
  • Create original content for website and social media accounts.
  • Create and assess surveys and data.
  • Assist and collaborate with other coordinators.
  • Ensure the safety and uphold the quality of the facility’s physical condition.
  • Help shape and uphold the vision of the school.

School Coordinator Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in customer service or similar industry
  • Work experience in an educational institution is recommended
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Strong command of Turkish language, both oral and written
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to effectively use and maintain office devices, excellent computer skills
  • Ability to detect problems and flaws in advance and capacity to offer solutions
  • Willingness to work on weekends
